March 6, 2011

Hello Academy,

Time is marching on!  Our 50th reunion is getting ever closer. The dates are August 5-6-7, 2011 and I hope you are ALL making plans to be in Erie for this HUGE bash!  Face it, my old friends, we are not getting any younger! While it has (thankfully) been some time since I've received word of a departed classmate, we are already at the point where we have lost over 10% of our old friends. And I do mean OLD!

Please stay in touch with me at:  <warren@kitzmiller.com>   I will be sending out announcements as they become available.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in August . . . please attend.

Sincerely,

FRITZ KITZMILLER

Hello Academy,

Well! At long last, I think I am once again able to edit this website! I've been having problems for more than a year, but I purchased a new version of the diting software and I think it is finally working correctly. That's a good thing, since with the 50th anniversary coming up faster than we care to admit, there is going to be a lot of information to send out.

You'll be hearing from me by email, of course, but this website will contain everything you'll need to know, too.

I'll keep you posted!

September 22, 2008

Hello Academy,

I know I'm late in getting this posted . . . I've been busy running a primary campaign to keep my legislative seat. I won, and the November election is a walk in the park!

I wanted to enter a few words about the picnic this summer . . . . . it was a terrific day!  So good to see old friends again. Hadn't seen Jon Anderson since our 25th reunion (how long ago was that??).  For those of you who missed it, I can only say,"START PLANNING NOW TO COME TO THE 50TH REUNION IN 2011!!"

The 50th will be the biggie of all time, and you'd better attend. Truly, at the age we'll be then . . . . well, we'll be "old" then . . . today we're still young. . . . . . but it may well be the last chance to see one another. The actuarial tables start looking a bit scary after that.

I have a fair number of pictures that folks have sent from the picnic. If I can figure out how to start a new page here in this website, I'll post them here. That, or I'll get them on Flickr or something. Soon, I almost promise . .

I really don't have any news, just wanted to say Hi to everyone, and send a special Thanks to "the committee" for putting on such a great picnic.

See you soon,

FRITZ K

Hello Academy,

I recently got an email version of the upcoming picnic invitation. If you didn't get it, and want to know ALL the details, send me an email, and I'll forward it to you. In a nutshell, the picnic is scheduled for July 26, 2008, at Picnicana Park. It will run form 1pm to around 8pm and will feature hot sandwiches, beer, pop, salads, etc. The cost will be $12.00 and advance reservations are needed by June 1 to get an accurate headcount. Folks are asked to bring a wrapped present for the blind auction.

Again, send me an email, and I'll forward the whole form to you!  Hope to see you there. The last one was terrific!

Best wishes,

FRITZ

Hello Academy,

And Happy New Year to All!  Here's to a safe, healthy & prosperous New Year for each and every one of us.

I just received a very nice message from Marissa Priestap, our 2006 scholarship winner. Many of you remember the terrific impression Marissa made on us at the 45th reunion. She writes:

"School is going very well. I'm currently studying Spanish and Biology (I started off as International Business), but I'm still not entirely sure what I can do with that. I'm a very ambitious person, but also a very indecisive person, so I need to get cracking on that. This year at school I am goalie for the women's lacrosse team, and I've been playing pick-up and intramural soccer every chance that I get. I like school much better this semester than during the last.

I hope your Christmas was wonderful and I wish you a very Happy New Year! Please tell everyone that I said hello and I think they're the best! I promise to be in better touch."

                                                                                         Sincerely,

                                                                                         Marissa

Ed.note: Here's a post from our friend Doug Thomas, writing about the old and new rollercoaster being constructed at Waldameer Park. Then, note that Doug is a NEW DAD!  Our hearty Congrats! go out to our old friend . . . hey Doug, there goes any thoughts of retirement!  I bet you're the oldest "new" Dad in our Class. Good on ya!
